Conclusions of Product research

After several radial analysis' of Hip hop magazines I have found some conventions that are typically included within Hip Hop magazines.

Front Page-

• A consistent colour scheme.
• One main image which covers most of the page.
• Usually the Hip Hop artists head partly covers the title.
• Barcode either bottom left or right.
• The featured article in a bigger font size.
• Articles spread around the artist.
• A list of artists that feature in the magazine.

Contents Page-

• The word 'features' which highlights the magazine articles.
• One main image which covers the whole page
• A small amount of words are written.
• The page looks quite spacious.
• The word 'contents' is usually placed in a unique way.
• Date usually placed in top right corner.

Double Page spread-

• Article is written in columns
• The main image usually covers a page and is placed on the left.
• First letter of article is larger and bold to make it contrast.
• A quote from an artist is usually shown
• Quote marks are bigger then the actual quote itself.
• Image and background colour contrasts.

From these conventions it will help me to design and create my magazine, as I know the typical conventions that hip hop magazines follow.
